School Restoration Projects

Over the last several years, Richmond Public Schools have seen little to no additional funding to their Capital Improvement Budget. 80% of RPS buildings are more than 50 years old, meaning our schools are beginning to crumble around our children. With ceiling tiles falling on children's heads, unsafe playgrounds, classrooms that flood, mold on ceilings and peeling paint throughout most of our buildings, it is time for our community to help right the wrongs of years of neglect that our school system has faced.

Thanks to our fundraising efforts and our wonderful volunteers, BBRPS has helped improve over 30 schools within the RPS district. Projects include landscaping, gymnasium and bathroom renovations, mural projects, wall painting, ceiling tile replacements, and even a holiday makeover for an elementary school. To date, we have hosted dozens of volunteer events and have completed close to $300,000 worth of upgrades to the Richmond Public School System.
